Ci\u00f2 consente di risparmiare tempo e risorse, oltre a garantire che i trattamenti siano sicuri ed efficaci prima di essere somministrati alle persone. Per le condizioni legate alla CLCN4<\/em>, un modello animale aiuter\u00e0 gli scienziati a conoscere meglio: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Quali modelli di ratto hanno generato la Cure CLCN4<\/em>? <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    In termini semplificati, nei pazienti le alterazioni o i “difetti” del gene CLCN4<\/em> possono avere due effetti:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Una perdita di funzione<\/strong>, ovvero la proteina smette di funzionare.<\/span>
    Un guadagno di funzione<\/strong>: significa che la proteina \u00e8 pi\u00f9 attiva o funziona in modo anomalo.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Pertanto, abbiamo generato due tipi di ratti Clcn4<\/em>:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Un topo con un gene Clcn4<\/em> mancante, detto anche knockout, che imita<\/strong> quindi una perdita di funzione.<\/strong><\/span>
    Un ratto con un’alterazione di Clcn4 che nell’uomo \u00e8 stata descritta come un guadagno di funzione, quindi imita un guadagno di funzione<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
