Operations & Communications Intern (remote, paid)
Cure CLCN4 is a small but ambitious rare disease charity dedicated to accelerating research, supporting families, and raising awareness of CLCN4-related neurodevelopmental condition.
We are looking for a proactive and motivated Operations & Communications Intern to join our team. This remote, part-time role offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing international charity at the intersection of scientific research, and patient advocacy. This position is ideal for someone with a Life Sciences background who is interested in science communication, rare diseases, and gaining hands-on experience within the non-profit sector.
The role
Working closely with the Charity Manager, you will support both our communications activities and day-to-day operations.
Communications
You will help plan, create, and schedule content across our digital channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. This will involve:
- Designing engaging visuals using Canva
- Drafting posts tailored to different audiences (families, clinicians, researchers, supporters)
- Supporting newsletter and website content updates
- Helping implement and grow our digital communications strategy
- Monitoring engagement and identifying opportunities to expand our reach.
Operations
You will also support the organisational side of the charity, including:
- Assisting with fundraising initiatives and campaigns
- Supporting the organisation of scientific meetings and family conferences
- Contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day charity operations
As a small team, we value flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to contribute across different areas when needed.

What we are looking for
- A background in Life Sciences (Biology, Medicine, Neuroscience, or related field preferred)
- Strong written communication skills
- Confidence using Canva and social media platforms
- An interest in rare diseases, research, and patient advocacy
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Fluency in additional languages is an advantage but not essential
- A commitment to a one-year internship
