The role

Under the supervision of the Research and Communications Manager, the successful applicant will support the charity’s communications and outreach efforts, including:

• Helping to plan and produce content for the charity’s communications channels (social media, newsletter, website).
• Supporting outreach to the CLCN4 community, including families, clinicians, researchers, and potential partners.
• Assisting with the organisation of outreach events, including our annual scientific meeting, family meetings, and community campaigns.
• Supporting the development of materials for advocacy and fundraising.
• Contributing to the charity’s communication strategy and growth of its digital presence.
• Translating or adapting content for different audiences or languages (if applicable).

What we are looking for

• A background in Biology, Medicine, or a related scientific field (ideally 2nd year undergraduate or above).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A passion for improving the lives of those affected by rare conditions.

• Strong organisational and IT skills.

• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

• Fluency in additional languages (particularly Italian, French, or Portuguese) is an advantage.

• A commitment to a one-year internship.

• The candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
